A month of lights, music and a gingerbread wonderland! Sausalito Town Launches First-Ever “Holiday By the Bay” Celebration Series


SAUSALITO, California, 25 November 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – After forcing the cancellation of most regional holidays last year, the City of Sausalito has gone all out for 2021 with its first ‘Holiday By the Bay’ celebration – turning into a winter wonderland with 18 events scheduled throughout December.

Highlights include the return of the iconic parade of illuminated boats and fireworks on Saturday 11 December, and the City-Wide Gingerbread House Tour Contest begins 1st December, featuring stunning gingerbread artwork at businesses across town.

Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the holiday spirit with a hot chocolate while enjoying all of the incredible shops, restaurants and breathtaking vistas of Sausalito.

“Holiday by the Bay kicks off”
Holiday by the Bay kicks off with a Christmas carol featuring the Little Willow Strummers, a unique ukulele band from Sausalito Woman’s Club, Christmas tree lighting, and fun activities all over town.

“Visit of the gingerbread house”
A long-standing family tradition for many, the Sausalito Gingerbread House Tour showcases the creativity of the local business in Sausalito. Visitors can join the Gingerbread Houses Tour anytime during the month of December by downloading a map of participating locations, viewing the unique Gingerbread Houses and voting for their favorite. The fan favorite winner will be announced in January 2022.

“Breakfast with Santa Claus”
Santa’s elves will cook a delicious pancake breakfast for Santa and his guests! Pre-registration for this event is required and you won’t want to forget to bring your camera to take a photo with Mr. Claus.

Varda Landing Studios Open
Sausalito Working Waterfront Coalition opens its studios to the public.

Join the merchants of Caledonia Street for a festive evening of holiday shopping! Visitors can see Santa and his elves frolic Candy Cane Way, then enjoy restaurant specials and vacation activities. TO 4 p.m., watch a performance by local band, Harmonica Means, on the corner of Pine & Caledonia.

Make sure to bring the kids and a camera to take photos with Santa and his elves!

“34th Annual Parade of Illuminated Boats and Fireworks”
Install a chair anywhere along the Sausalito waterfront to see the brightly decorated boats during the 34th Annual Illuminated Boats Parade.

The parade is free and starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, with fireworks starting at 7:15 p.m. above Richardson Bay. The event features dozens of brightly decorated boats along the Sausalito waterfront, as well as food and drink at Gabrielson Park.

“Jingle Bell Run & 5k & Children’s race 2021 ”
Running is a lot more fun when you’re doing it at the same time Sausalito Picturesque waterfront! The Annual Jingle Bell Race &5K is an annual fundraising event starting in 8:30 on Humboldt Ave (50 Humboldt Ave Sausalito, California 94965). This unique run along the Sausalito waterfront allows participants to admire breathtaking views while benefiting from the Dipsea Kidz program helping at-risk youth.
