Effective March 4, 2022, until rescinded: Mendocino County Health Officer’s Order rescinding the wearing of face coverings in indoor public places by all persons in response to the rise of COVID-19 and the the spread of the Delta variant. Strong recommendation to continue interior masking for the time being. However, indoor masking is still mandatory in certain settings such as schools, healthcare facilities and public transport. Walk and Paddle for Cancer Resource Centers 2022

Poem in Your Pocket Day

This year’s theme is “The Earth Speaks”. The Fort Bragg Library will post recorded videos of spoken word poetry on its Youtube channel if the videos are received by April 26. Contact fortbragglibrary.org for more information and guidelines.

Fort Bragg Library Adult Book Group

“Braiding Sweetgrass,” held in the Community Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The library offers Wi-Fi hotspots

Each of the five library branches and the bookmobile now have devices available to loan out for a 28-day payment period on a first-come, first-served, walk-in basis. Each Wi-Fi hotspot kit contains a hotspot device, charger and instructions. These kits are intended for people who do not have a broadband connection at home. California State Library Park Pass Program

County libraries are participating in a pilot program that will provide free parking all day at participating CA State Parks. Each county library received a Parks Pass hang tag. There is a weekly pantry every Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Mendocino.

Mendocino College Agriculture Spring Plant Sale

Held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, at Mendocino College, Ukiah Campus at 1000 Hensley Creek Road, Ukiah. CALIFORNIA. Featuring summer vegetables, berries, hardy perennials, California natives, xeriscapes and hard-to-find plants. All proceeds will be used to fund the Department of Agriculture.

Free clothing exchange on Friday

Every Friday (weather permitting) from 11 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Fort Bragg Food Bank team of staff and volunteers will be out front at 910 North Franklin Street to sort clothes for Free Friday Clothing Pop Up Swap, open for customers and community members to come by to browse and take home – all for free.

Friday Skating Night

Friday nights from 7-9pm there is Family Skating Night at the Old Rec Gym in Fort Bragg – 213 E Laurel St. The cost is $5 per day and participants under 18 must be signed in by a parent or guardian. For questions, call 707 964-9446.

Mendocino College Agriculture Spring Plant Sale

From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mendocino College’s Ukiah campus at 1000 Hensley Creek Road, Ukiah, CA, will host a fundraiser for the college’s agricultural department. Stand with Ukraine

Stand With Ukraine, is a community benefit for Ukraine relief sponsored by The Rotary Foundation of Mendocino, The Rotary Club of Mendocino and The Mendocino Café.

New fishing regulations

The California Fish and Wildlife Commission has passed emergency fishing regulations due to low river flows and salmon and rainbow trout runs. It is the fisherman’s responsibility to request the status of coastal rivers in Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties. “Eterno, el Flamenco vive” at the Caspar Community Center

Fort Bragg Vaccination Clinic

On Monday, Mendocino County Public Health at 120 West Fir Street in Fort Bragg offers all vaccines, including 3rd doses for immunocompromised individuals and boosters. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch. Sign up for an appointment at MyTurn.gov. A parent or legal guardian must print and sign a consent for minors for the Pfizer vaccine. Go to mendocinocountypublichealth.org and click on Consent Form.

Fort Bragg COVID test

COVID testing is available at Fort Bragg outside the Veterans Building on Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The location is 383 North Harrison Street.

Tuesday under the tent

Every week it’s Tuesdays under the Mendocino Coast Clinics Tent from 2-5pm. All vaccines are available, including 3rd doses for the immunocompromised and boosters. This is a drive-thru in the white tent on the north side of the clinic, no appointment necessary. Boosters are now available for children aged 12 and over, if it has been at least 6 months since their second dose if they received Moderna or Pfizer, or at least 2 months if they received Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18 to receive a vaccine. Please follow all signage and instructions for the Tuesday Immunization Clinic, and please do not arrive early.

Fort Bragg COVID test

The Mendocino Coast Clinic is offering free COVID monitoring testing (for people with no symptoms) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. These are different tests and are handled differently. If you have symptoms, call the clinic at 707-964-1251 to get evaluated and see if you need to be tested. If you have been exposed, please wait 3-4 days before asking to be tested. You will not get a true result if the test is performed too soon after exposure. The location is 205 South Street.

Albion Pantry

The pantry will be open on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is located in Albion behind the Albion grocery store and the US post office.
