Presentation of Los Angeles Faculty Colloquia with poetry reading by Dr. Rosalie Moffett

Indiana University College of Liberal Arts will host a virtual faculty symposium presentation featuring Dr. Rosalie Moffett, Assistant Professor of English, at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 21. “, via a webinar link on USI.edu/lafc. The presentation will also be broadcast live on the College of Liberal Arts Facebook page and uploaded to the College of Liberal Arts YouTube.

Moffetts’ presentation is presented as inspired by the distorted manifestation of American promise occurring in poems that consider capitalism, consumerism, inflatable bald eagles, mass shootings, Amazon’s sprawling distribution center, Scrooge McDuck and Lucky Charms. “These poems interrogate the nature of hope, what can be worshipped, and the limits and possibilities of being human,” she says.

This presentation is part of the Spring 2022 Faculty of Liberal Arts Colloquium. Each fall and spring semester, USI faculty members from the College of Liberal Arts present one-on-one, free public lectures showcasing their current research .
