Princeton Makes and Ragged Sky Press are hosting a second poetry reading on Sunday, February 13

(PRINCETON, NJ) — Princeton Marksa new artists’ cooperative based in Princeton, and Tattered Sky Press, a local poetry-focused publisher, will host a second Sunday poetry reading on Sunday, February 13 at 4:00 p.m. The readings will take place at the Princeton Makes store in the Princeton Shopping Center.

The February 13 reading will feature Elizabeth Danson and Carlos Hernández Peña. Their readings will be followed by an open mic available to up to 10 members of the public who wish to read their original poetry. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, love-themed poetry is appreciated.

Elizabeth Danson, known to her friends as Mimi, was educated in England but spent her adult life in the United States. She taught reading and writing to children and adults. A member of the US1 Poets’ Co-operative for many years, she has published poems in US1 Worksheets and several other poetry journals on both sides of the Atlantic. The Ragged Sky Press has published two books of his poems: The luxury of obstacles in 2006 and Watch again in 2019.

Carlos Hernandez Pena was born in Mexico City and is the author of Moonmilk and other poems. He translated into Spanish Behind God’s Back (from the English translation by Paul Sohar) of the Hungarian poet Sándor Kányádi. His work appears in Drunken Boat, Fox Chase Review, US1 Worksheets, Hayden’s Ferry Review and other journals. He recently retired from The Segal Co., a benefits consultant in Princeton, New Jersey.

Princeton Marks is a cooperative made up of 32 local artists who work in a range of artistic genres, including painting, drawing, stained glass, sculpture, textiles and jewellery. Customers will be able to support local artists by purchasing a wide variety of artwork including large paintings, prints, bespoke greeting cards, stained glass lamps and window hangings, jewelry in a variety patterns and patterns, and more.
