Princeton Makes and Ragged Sky Press are hosting a second poetry reading on Sunday, March 13

(PRINCETON, NJ) — Princeton Marksan artists’ cooperative based in Princeton, and Tattered Sky Press, a local poetry-focused publisher, will host a second Sunday poetry reading on Sunday, March 13 at 4:00 p.m. The readings will take place at the Princeton Makes store in the Princeton Shopping Center. The reading will feature Todd C. Evans and Stacey Williams. Their readings will be followed by an open mic accessible to a maximum of 10 spectators who wish to read their original poetry.

Todd C. Evans is an actor, songwriter and novelist, as well as a spoken word poet. He founded two open mics, a theater troupe and the Cultural Heritage Book Fair. In addition to five chapbooks, his latest collection is A rose for Ruby. More recently, Evans’ short Christmas play Redemption Alley was chosen to be read at the McCarter Theatre. He lives in southern New Jersey and is a passionate youth sports coach.

Stacey Williams combines the Bible, science fiction and hip hop in its writing. He had his most encouraging debut in poetry at the People’s Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. His father once told him, “Never get mad about something you don’t want to change”, which he served as inspiration for his first collection, Sneakers on the cross. He read his work on several radio and open mic shows from Classics Books in Trenton.

Princeton Marks is a cooperative made up of 32 local artists who work in a range of artistic genres, including painting, drawing, stained glass, sculpture, textiles and jewellery. Customers will be able to support local artists by purchasing a wide variety of artwork including large paintings, prints, bespoke greeting cards, stained glass lamps and window hangings, jewelry in a variety patterns and patterns, and more. Tattered Sky Press is a small, very selective cooperative press. We work closely with our authors. Authors retain copyright and we use our professional experience and resources to support the author’s work throughout the editing, production and design process. Ragged Sky Press has historically focused on mature voices, overlooked poets and women’s perspectives.
