Princeton Makes and Ragged Sky Press Present Second Sunday of September Poetry Reading

(PRINCETON, NJ) — Princeton Marksan artists’ cooperative based in Princeton, and Tattered Sky Press, a local poetry-focused publisher, will host a second Sunday poetry reading on Sunday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m. The readings will take place at the Princeton Makes store in the Princeton Shopping Center.

The September reading will feature Margaret Ray and Arlene Weiner. Their readings will be followed by an open mic accessible to a maximum of 10 spectators who wish to read their original poetry.

Marguerite Ray is the author of Good grief, the floor (BOA Editions, 2023, A. Poulin Jr. Poetry Prize) and Mid-Atlantic Superstitions (Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship Prize, 2022). His poems have appeared in Best New Poets 2021, Threepenny Review, Story, and elsewhere. A winner of Third rib Poetry Prize winner, she has an MFA from Warren Wilson College and teaches in New Jersey.

Arlene is a longtime member of US 1 Poets’ Cooperative and several poetry groups in Pittsburgh, where she lives. His poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies. She was a MacDowell Fellow. Arlene also writes plays.

Princeton Makes is a cooperative made up of 32 local artists who work in a range of artistic genres, including painting, drawing, stained glass, sculpture, textiles and jewelry. Customers will be able to support local artists by purchasing a wide variety of artwork including large paintings, prints, bespoke greeting cards, stained glass lamps and window hangings, jewelry in a variety patterns and patterns, and more.
